What is your favorite memory as part of HMCC?
Freshman year, after a Friday night worship (called ACCESS back then), we went to Trotter House for fellowship and games. We played sizzling bacon. It was absolutely ridiculous. I laughed so hard and so much that night. God knew this would be the right church for me.

What’s a fun “quirk” about you?
Dave and I are both left-handed. All 3 of our children came out right-handed. Go figure.

Miesha White

Miesha came to HMCC in February of 2012 and became a member later that year after experiencing God working powerfully in her and through community. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2006 with a BA in Psychology and Women’s Studies and is currently in classes at Moody Theological Seminary for Counseling Psychology. She currently works in the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan where she has been for over 10 years.

Miesha feels a strong call to Women’s Ministry, specifically equipping women to build up other women by having a clearer understanding of their identity as Women of God. As she personally experienced freedom and empowerment in this area of identity she wants to make sure others are able to live their best life free from the bondage of inferiority and weakness. She serves as a small group leader, on the worship team and a church coordinator.

In her free time, you can find Miesha watching Netflix, eating delicious foods and spending time with her sisters and niece and nephew.

Kristin Zheng

Kristin Zheng joined HMCC in the fall of 2011 after becoming engaged to her husband, Solomon. She graduated with an BA in English Education from Grand Valley State University and received a graduate degree in TESOL from EMU. After working in a Southwest Detroit high school for seven years (where she met her husband), she “retired” to become a mom to her two daughters, Grace and Lydia.

God has continually revealed to Kristin that His grace is sufficient in every weakness, which is especially life-affirming in this often-chaotic season of motherhood. He has given her opportunities to learn, grow, and stay reliant upon Him as she serves as a leader in the Covenant ministry and on staff to oversee the finances of our church.

In her free time, you can find her reading classic novels, baking, and watching epic science-fiction movies with her husband.

Gina Dahlem

Why do you currently serve at HMCC?
I believe in the vision and mission of HMCC and it is God’s calling for our family. Also, it is a privilege to be serving God and seeing Him transform lives year after year.

What are three words that best describe you?
Introvert, diligent, adventurous
