Experiencing Membership Catch-Up

If you have been connected to Harvest Mission Community Church before September of this year and weren’t able to officially become a member of our local church because of the pandemic, we are opening up a one-time “catch-up” Experiencing Membership class! This class will be in-person at the Transformation Center, and will go over what it means to be a part of a church, who we are as HMCC, and explore your next steps to become a part of our spiritual family.

Note: If you are a newcomer who started attending our church in Fall 2021, we will be offering another class for you later in the semester.

Note: Experiencing Membership is a prerequisite for joining a ministry team and participating on a missions project with our church.

Transformation Center Work Day

As a church family, the fall season is one where we see many people visiting our church gatherings for the first time, whether it’s students starting school at the University of Michigan or families and working adults moving to the area. We as a church want to welcome them with the love of Christ and a spirit of hospitality! As part of our preparation, we will have a church-wide work day to clean and fix up some areas in our building, the Transformation Center, to host new visitors in the fall for our gatherings. We can use as much help as we can get, so please join us on August 14th at 1PM so that we can be ready to Make Room for new people!

Transcultural Apologetics Seminar

A big part of apologetics involves presenting the relevance and validity of the Christian worldview (the Bible, the Gospel) in terms of our culture’s contemporary issues (science, social change, critical theory, philosophy). In this sense, it is inherently transcultural! We will spend the time exploring and asking questions together in the hopes that our discussions may build us in boldness (and further explorating and curiosity to learn) to share our worldview to the people around us.

There will be a very short introduction with some background and ground rules, but most of the time will be in smaller groups to discuss topics that we hear around us or questions that we ourselves may feel uncomfortable with.

This session is ONLY in-person at the T-Center. We ask that individuals wear masks if they are coming. Feel free to bring laptops/tablets/phones to take notes or look up things.
