Yost Yost Baby

This Saturday night Intertwined, Milestone, and TNL partnered together to bless the church by cleaning up Yost. We arrived at 9:20pm and caught the last 15 minutes of the UM vs BGSU hockey game. It was SO exciting! Fans packed the arena and akin to our football games, the entire crowd performed crazy traditions like putting their hands to their heads and acting like bobbleheads. (...yeah I have no idea why they did that)

Anyway, once the arena cleared out, the 22 of us were put to work! Sparing the dirty details, half of us were trash collectors, while the other half of us were sweepers and cleaned the entire arena - the stands, the hallways, and the cubicles under the stands. The task was daunting at first, but we were able to finish in 2 hours! The two people supervising our group were really impressed by the job we did - they even had to tell us to stop working because “it didn’t have to be perfect”.

It was awesome teaming up the undergrads with the focus group to bless our church and even bless the managers at Yost. I was proud that our small groups could represent Christ in such an "excellent" way. At the end of the night, the man in charge let me know that he wished he could have our group work every weekend (This means a lot because it's HARD getting an open date to clean Yost since there's such a high demand for it). He ended by saying he was looking forward to the next time our group would work with him next semester (look below for details on that!).

The night was definitely full of blessings:
- we raised $200 for our church
- we started a great relationship with Yost
- we were able to be a witness to the managers at Yost
- we got to know some cool Focus people
- we saw a hockey game for free! =P

overall, a pretty "yay God" night
