School of Worship

Biblical Worship is essential for any Christ-follower to shed a “me” centered faith and gain a God-centered faith. Under the umbrella of the School of Transformation, the School of Worship is intended to train HMCC members in the area of worship. Through a comprehensive curriculum, participants will be equipped with biblical principles and practical ways to apply these principles into their lives. From the fundamentals to hands-on training, our goal is to teach believers to use their time, treasures and talents for the purpose of glorifying God. Whether your passion lies in music, sound technology, singing, or lights, or you are simply interested in an area and just starting out--the School of Worship is designed to cover various aspects of worship on multiple levels.

The School of Worship consists of three units*:

Unit I: Foundations of Worship. What must we know about worship before we lift up any kind of offering? How can I use my gifts and passions to worship God in a way that best pleases Him? This three-part class will cover basic values and practical disciplines that we can immediately incorporate into our lives. HMCC membership is a prerequisite.

Unit II: Fundamentals of Worship. This module will offer options of various tracks for people who are interested in learning the fundamentals of worship through a particular area in music or technology—including guitar, keyboard, sound technology. Unit I is a pre-requisite.

Unit III: Facilitation of Worship. In this module, students will learn more advanced principles and practical knowledge of various areas. Elective tracks such as song-writing, worship leading, and advanced levels for instruments or A/V technology will be available. Unit II is a pre-requisite.

The first unit, “Foundations of Worship,” will be offered on Sat 10/25 at 1PM, Sun 11/2 at 2PM, and Sat 11/8 at 1 PM. Questions may be directed to nancy.choi@hmcc.net. Click here to sign up.

*Due to limitations in scheduling, only one unit will be offered this semester—consecutive units will be offered in subsequent semesters.
