Pastoral StaffPastor Joshua Yang
Assistant Pastor (Ann Arbor) - firstname.lastname@example.org
Pastor Josh joined the HMCC family in 2006 as a freshman at Northwestern University, where HMCC planted its first church plant. It was here that God grew Pastor Josh's heart for the local church as he served as a coordinator, LIFE group leader, and worship leader, and in 2011, Pastor Josh first received his calling to pastoral ministry. In 2015, Pastor Josh moved up to Ann Arbor, and after a few years of healing, repentance, and receiving counsel, rejoined the HMCC staff as an assistant pastor in Ann Arbor.
Pastor Josh graduated in 2009 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and also works as an Implementation Engineer for a company in Ann Arbor. He has a passion to see people fully understand God's love for them, and to experience Him deeply daily and in corporate worship. His lesser passions include professional wrestling, cooking meat, and perfecting his chili recipe.
Pastoral StaffPastor Tou Fue Thao
Assistant Pastor (Ann Arbor) - email@example.com
Pastor Tou Fue has been a member of the HMCC family since his freshman year at the University of Michigan, where he graduated with a B.A. in History and obtained a Master's degree in Education. Over the years, Pastor Tou Fue has served as a LIFE group leader, a ministry team leader, and a coordinator, and also was part of the church plant team that started HMCC of Austin.
Through the years of serving at HMCC of Austin, God began to specifically stir in Pastor Tou Fue's heart a desire to be part of another church plant in the near future. Therefore, in September 2017, Pastor Tou Fue returned to HMCC of Ann Arbor specifically with the intention of beginning a church-planting residency. He is currently serving as a Pastor in HMCC of Ann Arbor, as well as taking seminary classes, in preparation of when God will call him to go.
Staff Erica Leung
Staff (Ann Arbor) - firstname.lastname@example.org
Erica first joined HMCC as a freshman at the University of Michigan in the Fall of 2008, and became part of the international student Global Access ministry. Although she had grown up in a Christian family, it wasn't until she joined HMCC that she really powerfully and personally encountered God, deeply experienced his healing love, and ultimately committed to a life of building his kingdom instead of her own. After graduation, Erica stayed in Ann Arbor to continue serving as a leader in Global Access, while also working first as a barista at Starbucks, and later as a paralegal in an immigration law firm. In January of 2017, Erica joined HMCC as a full-time staff member to meet the executive, administrative and event-planning needs of the church, and she is excited to see where God will lead HMCC in this season. In her free time, Erica enjoys exploring all the coffee shops of Ann Arbor in search of the best soy latte and cold-brew coffee in town, and hanging out with friends.
Staff Xinxin Zhou
Part-time Staff (Ann Arbor) - email@example.com
Xinxin Zhou has been a member of HMCC since her freshman year in 2012 at the University of Michigan. She graduated with a B.A. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience along with Screen Arts and Culture. During her college years, God shaped Xinxin's identity and transformed her heart by revealing His relentless love more and more. She joined as part-time staff in hopes of expanding and strengthening discipleship, leadership development, and women's ministry here at HMCC. She continues to serve as a campus ministry leader and church coordinator while applying for law school. During her free time, Xinxin loves to write essays about good movies she's seen (if you ask her to talk about Mad Max: Fury Road, you may not be able to leave for several hours), spend quality time with friends and family, and eat new kinds of cheese.
Staff Kristin Zheng
Part-time Staff (Ann Arbor) - firstname.lastname@example.org
Kristin Zheng joined HMCC in the fall of 2011 after becoming engaged to her husband, Solomon. She graduated with an BA in English Education from Grand Valley State University and received a graduate degree in TESOL from EMU. After working in a Southwest Detroit high school for seven years (where she met her husband), she “retired” to become a mom to her two daughters, Grace and Lydia.
God has continually revealed to Kristin that His grace is sufficient in every weakness, which is especially life-affirming in this often-chaotic season of motherhood. He has given her opportunities to learn, grow, and stay reliant upon Him as she serves as a leader in the Covenant ministry and on staff to oversee the finances of our church.
In her free time, you can find her reading classic novels, baking, and watching epic science-fiction movies with her husband.
