Pastoral Staff
Rev. Dr. Seth S. Kim

Lead Pastor (Hong Kong) -
Global Leadership Team Member

Pastor Seth moved to Ann Arbor with his wife, Christina, in the summer of 1996 with the vision of planting a church that would be used by God to "transform lost people into Christ's disciples who will then transform the world." He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1992, and received his call into full-time ministry while serving as a member of a gospel praise band during his undergraduate years.

After college, Pastor Seth worked as a youth pastor and then completed his Master of Divinity and Master of Arts degrees at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. Pastor Seth has also received his doctorate degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, MA.

In 2013, Pastor Seth felt God's call to plant a church in Hong Kong. After praying through this decision with his family, Pastor Seth, Christina, and their three kids, Josiah, Elliot, and Karissa, moved to Hong Kong indefinitely in July 2015 to start HMCC of Hong Kong.

Pastor Andrew Jun

Lead Pastor (Jakarta) -

Pastor Andrew joined HMCC when he moved to Ann Arbor for graduate school in August 1998 after completing his undergraduate studies in Industrial Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Over the years, he grew a passion for missions and evangelism. He graduated in May 2007 from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School with a Masters of Divinity degree.

Pastor Andrew met his wife, Nicole, at HMCC, and they were married in December 2006. Pastor Andrew and Nicole are currently serving as missionaries in Indonesia and are leading HMCC of Jakarta. His hobbies include bird watching, reading, watching DVDs, and spending time with Nicole.

Rev. Pete Dahlem

Lead Pastor (Ann Arbor) -
Global Leadership Team Member

Pastor Pete joined HMCC after receiving Christ through a LIFE Group in January 2000. Since then, he has led LIFE Groups and ministry teams, and also served as a church coordinator and director of programming. Pastor Pete met his wife Gina at HMCC, and they were married in August 2010. They welcomed their son Nicholas in July 2011. Pastor Pete served as associate pastor of HMCC of Ann Arbor for 9 years before stepping into the lead pastor role in 2015.

While serving at HMCC, Pastor Pete has developed a passion for teaching, discipleship, and building a transcultural/multi-ethnic church. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in philosophy in 2003, and worked for U of M for 5 years as a web developer before serving full-time at HMCC. Pastor Pete is studying toward a Master of Divinity degree at Asbury Theological Seminary.

Rev. Benjamin Kim

Lead Pastor (Austin) -

Pastor Ben has been a member of HMCC since its founding. Over the years the Lord has placed within him a passion for teaching believers how to mature in their relationship with Jesus Christ and training them up to be Christ-like servant-leaders.

He moved to Ann Arbor in the fall of 1996 to pursue a Masters degree in Public Health after receiving his undergrad degree in Biology at Washington University in St. Louis. As he served as a small group leader and church coordinator at HMCC for four years, he received God's call to go into full-time ministry.

Since then, Pastor Ben received a Masters of Divinity at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He married Susan Kim, who had also grown and served as a small group leader and coordinator in HMCC during her undergrad years and beyond. They have two sons, Isaiah and Joshua, and are now serving full time at HMCC of Austin.

Pastor Joe Yun & Diana Yun

Lead Pastor (Singapore) -

Pastor Joe joined HMCC during his first year at University of Michigan in 2005, the same time he placed his faith in Christ and prayed for a calling to the missions field. Since then, Pastor Joe had the privilege of serving on the church leadership, where he eventually felt the calling to go into pastoral ministry.

Diana has been with HMCC since 2002. It was during her time at university that God transformed her and gave her the call to ministry. She is passionate about leadership, counseling, and justice. Diana currently oversees Liberty Mission, HMCC's anti-slavery ministry, as well as the Harvest Mission International Institute.

Pastor Joe and Diana met and grew closer together as they served in HMCC of Ann Arbor. They were married in May 2015, and moved to Singapore the same month to serve the church and the people of "The Little Red Dot". Pastor Joe and Diana enjoy taking walks together, discovering more of their new home country, and discovering really tasty hamburger joints!

Pastor Tou Fue Thao

Assistant Pastor (Austin) -

Pastor Tou Fue has been a member of the HMCC family since his freshman year at the University of Michigan, where he graduated with a B.A. in history and obtained a Master's degree in Education. Over the years, Pastor Tou Fue has served as a LIFE group leader, a ministry team leader, and a coordinator. During his time at HMCC, God grew a passion in Pastor Tou Fue's heart for evangelism and love for His people. In 2008, Pastor Tou Fue took this passion and joined the Austin church plant team.

Since moving to Austin, God has impressed on his heart the importance of discipleship and strong biblical teaching. Currently, Pastor Tou Fue is fulfilling his calling to ministry and is serving as a Pastor as well as working as a high school teacher.

Pastor Eric Yee

Assistant Pastor (Jakarta) -

Pastor Eric came to the University of Michigan in 2006 as an undergraduate student. After the persistent invitations and prayers of his roommate, he eventually checked out HMCC and committed his life to follow Christ in his second semester.

In 2010, after graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Pastor Eric joined Pastor Andrew and a team that was sent to Indonesia to plant HMCC of Jakarta, and later joined the pastoral staff in 2014. He met his wife Tina in HMCC of Ann Arbor, who was also part of the church plant team sent to Indonesia, and they were later married in 2015. Pastor Eric is studying toward a Master of Arts (Biblical Studies) degree at Reformed Theological Seminary.

Pastor John Eom

Assistant Pastor (Jakarta) -

Pastor John joined the HMCC family during his college years at the University of Michigan. After committing his life to Christ during his sophomore year, he was discipled in scripture, prayer, church ministry, and the sharing of his faith. After graduating in 2009 with a B.S. in Biology, he moved with a team to Indonesia to plant HMCC of Jakarta. He joined the pastoral staff as an assistant pastor in 2014 and is currently overseeing the worship ministry and missions projects of the church. Besides being with people and exploring music, he is passionate about food and the persevering New York Knicks.

Pastor Rebi Varghese

Assistant Pastor (Ann Arbor) -

Rebi Varghese joined HMCC the fall of 1999 as a junior at the University of Michigan. He graduated with a BSE in Computer Engineering in 2002. Since then he’s stayed in Ann Arbor, serving the church in many different roles in both the campus and community ministries. He has been working at the university as a desktop support specialist for over 10 years. In his free time, Rebi enjoys going to the gym and rooting on the Detroit sports teams!

Sam Beck

Lead Pastor (Detroit) -

Sam Beck joined HMCC in the fall of 2007 as a freshman at the University of Michigan. During his college years, God flipped his life upside down as he spent a year in Jakarta, Indonesia as a church plant team member, served as a campus ministry leader in Ann Arbor, and personally got to know the God of the universe. Sam graduated in 2014 with a M.S.E. in Industrial and Operations Engineering. Currently, he works as a process improvement coach at the University of Michigan Health System and serves as a pastor intern in the campus ministry. In his free time, Sam likes to eat, talk, and stay in shape by getting beat up by his boxing coach.
